Conducted 30 January 2008, this 75-minute, three-part interview was held between visionary artist Michael Garfield and integral philosopher Ken Wilber. For the first time (and as of 2009, for the ONLY time), Ken Wilber finally answers some of the hard questions about so-called "integral art" as an emergent form of expression unique to a new mode of consciousness and being: What the hell IS integral art, anyway? How do we know when we are looking at (or listening to) it? What distinguishes integral art from earlier postmodern movements? Is there an underlying creative impulse in the universe - and if so, how can we possibly understand it?
The included transcripts also contain explanatory notes for those unfamiliar with Ken's dense and specific philosophical language.
As a scholar-practitioner of integral art, Michael is happy to discuss these and related questions with anyone interested. For more information and/or conversation, please visit http://myspace.com/michaelgarfield or email michaelgarfield(at)gmail(dot)com.
